Synopsis
Ohio, 1993. Maureen’s 6yo, Amina, is taken out of the country by her ex-husband, Karim. After years of unsuccessfully trying to find her, Maureen is recruited by Robeson, who snatches back kidnapped children and promises that, if she works for him, he’ll help her find Amina. Eventually, Maureen tracks Karim to Beirut where she kidnaps back her now 11yo daughter.
But things are not as they seem; not only does it turn out that taking Amina back could endanger all of their lives but, in a huge emotional reckoning, Maureen realizes her daughter has a good life in Beirut, and wants to stay with her father. And so now, with what she has spent years longing for finally within reach, Maureen is forced to make the most difficult decision of her life.
